Creativity as a Mindset

We often equate creativity mainly with creative things or products we come across. In PW, generating ideas can be a frustrating because you are wondering how you will eventually produce a creative product?

Perhaps, what is more worthwhile considering is looking at creativity as a mindset. This blog entry from Huffington Post describes a creative mindset as a answer to boredom.

Creativity is a mind-set, a way of seeing the world. Creativity puts the magic back in life, so not only are we never bored, we are constantly inspired, present, empowered, and – dare I say it – happy.

Look up some of the interesting exercises at exercising a creative mindset. Some notable ones include:

  • Imagine every object is actually alive and talking to you! what would it say?
  • Pretend like you are in an adventure movie, fleeing from a monster, but trying to keep your calm composure to the outside world.

So there, have fun activating your creative mindset to your solutions!

  1. Hi, Thanks for using my post. I would truly appreciate if you credited me as the artist of the image used, as well as the author of this work. This piece originally appeared on my own website, which I later republished on Huffington Post. Would you mind revising this post to reflect the proper credit? Thank you.
